What Do Great Musicians Think About When They Improvise?

The answer may surprise you.

Great musicians and top improvisers tap into their musical imagination, the place where ideas come from, and they do it often.

The good news is you can learn to tap into your own creativity and do exactly what they do right now, and you don’t have to be a great guitar player to do it. Guitar Improv will teach you how.

  • Break out of the pentatonic box and explore new ideas

  • Develop new licks and lines

  • Learn how to write a great guitar solo

  • Learn what great improvisers do

  • Implement new concepts and techniques in real time

  • Free your mind & have fun

Creativity is not simply a property of exceptional people but an exceptional property of all people.
— Ron Carter

I have performed as a lead guitarist for decades in countless bands covering a wide range of musical genres. It isn’t easy coming up with new lead ideas every night. In fact, I’ve even quit bands because I was so frustrated with my playing feeling it was stale, predictable, and not improving. I was tired of hearing myself play those same licks night after night, and it made me feel bad about my guitar playing.

It took time and learning to practice the right things in the right way to finally reach a place where I felt free to explore the fretboard, take risks, and become more fluent in both my technique and musical knowledge to experience creative freedom and spontaneity on the guitar.

In Guitar Improv I share my experience and show you the techniques, concepts, and proper mindset to build confidence as a lead guitar player. Don’t let a weak mindset derail your musical journey any longer. Let me help you overcome your frustration and overwhelm, and get you reconnected with your creative mind to find endless inspiration and new musical ideas.
